The National Cadet Corps is intended to inculcate discipline and a sense of duty among the students. The NCC provides ample opportunities to develop one’s physical and intellectual potentials through training camps. Membership in the NCC entitles one to gain weightage in college admission. 15 marks for degree course and 5 marks for PG courses at the time of admission.

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit of Alphonsa College, part of 5 (K) Girls Battalion under Kottayam Group had its commencement in Alphonsa College in the year 1965.  This unit is attached to the Army Wing Senior Wing.  There are currently 108 cadets in the unit. The unit is lead by Lt. Anu Jose of department of English. SU/O Arathy K. L, U/O Resmy Shaji, U/O Silbi Benny.CPL Gopika B attended National Integration Camp held at Kolkota. SUO Carolin Tomy attended Special National Integration Camp held at Kavaratti, Lakshadweep. SGT Arathi KL and Cdt Manjima KS attended NIC at Delhi. 71 cadets attended Annual Training Camps. In the Inter-Group short film competition, our college won the first prize.

As part of the Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, our cadets engage in campus cleaning and cleaning the footpath along Pala – Kottayam road once in every month. They also participated in the campus beautification project by cleaning the campus and planting trees. They also initiated a mass awareness programme on Swatch Bharat by organizing an awareness rally. Go green is a new venture by the cadets and this year also the cadets prepared a vegetable garden and distributed saplings among students. To provide text books and other stationary items for those students who are financially weak, our cadets plan to setup a book bank and honesty shop. In association with the Excise Department, the NCC sub unit of the college organized an awareness class on Cancer and Drug Abuse. Deputy Commissioner of Excise, Mr. Suresh Richard was the resource person.
