Department of Mathematics

The department of mathematics Alphonsa college pala came into existence in 1967 with a sanctioned strength of 44 students. Rev.Sr.Mary Rosula M.Sc.M.Ed was the first head of the department. The other members of the department then were Rev .Sr .M. K.Annakutty and Rev. Sr.Jose Queen.

So far the students of the department had secured one 1st ranks, five 2nd ranks and three 3rd ranks in B.Sc degree examination. Ms Sunitha Jacob and Ms Honey C.H were qualified in ISS. Many former students of the department are occupying very high positions in different walks of life, in and outside the country. Ever since its inception the department has always kept high standards and traditions in academic and co-curricular activities.
